I suppose I’m celebrating my 1/2 year reunion, and Emily her 3 year. Looking forward to seeing everyone and catching the best fireworks show on that side of the Mississippi (Seattle has this side covered with a few mean fireworks shows each year).

Motorcycle Dog

My friend Maureen shared this clip with me. I’ve seen people carrying little lap dogs around on motorcycles, but this is the real thing. Makes me wonder if Mic and I need a new ride.

Going, going, gone!

And the unconverted cargo trailer is sold. That’s the end of a brief but memorable era for us. We had some fun times and wonderful adventures out of the cargo trailer in its converted form. After one last fire in the wood stove and a week up on Craigslist, I finally closed the book on that project.

Meanwhile, In Seattle

you’ve got a sea plane, a paddle board and a car. So who exactly has the right of way?

Things that are powered by the wind are fascinating. Especially sailing and flying. Every time we go to gasworks park I think of bringing a kite and lifting my GoPro camera up there to take some cool shots. Looking around the web I discovered this is no new idea, and that people are taking amazing shots with their kite aerial photography rigs. The following video profiles a UC Berkeley Architecture professor who’s become somewhat of a pioneer in the area.

One Killer Commute

Lately I’ve been living a dream that came true. I commute to work by boat. Yesterday was the ultimate, as I managed to row to work and then sail home. It’s great to be excited about going to work, even it’s just about the commute!

Unconverted Cargo Trailer

Sadly it is time to move on from the converted cargo trailer that has been at times a boat house, an office, and a home. Since moving to Seattle there’s been no time to use it, and no space in which to keep it. Recognizing that this project has come to its end is no easy thing to do, but life goes on and new adventures await. Hopefully the trailer can soon be replaced by something similar that floats, rather than rolls. So make me an offer, because this trailer is for sale!

Equals This (Unconverted Cargo Trailer Ready for New Owner):

Don’t worry though, of course I’ll be keeping the boat, the fireplace, and the solar panels (and the rest of the essentials for living out an adventurous life in the mountains and on the water in Seattle).
