Little did I know, this would be the last time my boat would see East coast waters. This “short film” is a conglomeration of footage I shot while exploring part of the Maine Island Trail. In this trip, Mic and I sailed all the way around Vinalhaven in Penobscot Bay (trip report here).
The video is high res so click to expand to full screen.
The trip was meant to be a trial run for a sail around the “Eye of Quebec,” or Manicouagan Reservoir. Plans for that trip are here. An explanation of what happened in lieu of that adventure is posted under “Knowing When.”
Awesome video…looks like you’re having an amazing time in some beautiful locations. Travel safe.
Out in Seattle now… I’ll post a little soon, but for now my sailing will be pretty close to the city. It’ll probably be a San Juan trip for the next adventure.
San Juan, P.R.?!?
San Juan Islands… in Puget Sound, up North from here.
Awesome video. I’ve been sailing/kayaking/motoring from island to island in Maine before I knew there was such thing as the Maine Island Trail. It’s a handy guide to have when you don’t want to be woken up in the middle of the night to an angry land owner! Spectacle Island is a favorite. I’ve packed enough gear into the cubby of my sunfish weather a couple nights out there.
